Current Journal for September 5th 2005

The Bitterness Journal

Today we shall discuss the height of my current annoyance: people that tell me to care about things that I have nothing to do with!

I’m not talking about politics or the world state. I am talking about stupid stuff. Stuff that I can’t influence nor care to.

Alright, let’s start with example number one. The conversations about the ‘Big Stars,’ lucky stiffs who’s main worry is how their butt is going to look in that Georgio Armani dress or suit. Sister comes down the stairs and gushes about the latest happenings. Do I care? Hardly. It is a sick fascination within our cultures that we bring people up only to slam them back down. And when I say “slam them back down,” I mean we do it for the pleasure of it. We’re all sadistic to the core, whether it is your brother maiming the Barbie doll you got as a kid, or your sister dating a friend’s crush (bad examples, I’m sorry.)

Ok, so that is done and over with. On to example number two.

The ever prevalent “You wouldn’t survive a DAY in my work if you didn’t like this or this.” This came to the forefront of my annoyance list because of my friend, Matt. As much as I like this know it all (he is dating a good friend, after all), I couldn’t help but feel the surge of bile-istic anger coming up. I believe the conversation was over spicey food. My response? “I could care less, seeing as how I don’t intend on EVER working where you work.”

Bitter? Ok, I admit it, I’m just a tad irritable lately. Poor Foreman felt the brunt of my attack the other night.

This is going no where, I so sign off with a sad, bitter little laugh and cry.
